How to play

  1. Pick a category

The category is any word pack: Food, Animals, Places and so on.

  2. Light the fuse

The first player takes the phone and from that moment the clock doesn’t stop.

  3. One word, pass it on

Each player says a word from the category that hasn’t come up yet and hands the phone straight to the next person.

  4. It blows at a random moment

Somewhere between thirty and ninety seconds. Whoever is holding it loses one of their three lives.

  5. Play until one is left

After the blast a new category comes up and you go again. The last player with a life wins.

Who it suits

  • When you need a game you can explain in one sentence.
  • Standing at the bar, in the kitchen, anywhere you can pass a phone.
  • For a group that enjoys shouting and split second decisions.

Questions people ask

Do I need the sound on?

No. The ticking also runs as haptics and a visual pulse, so the game works on a silenced phone.

When exactly does it go off?

The fuse is random between thirty and ninety seconds, so there is nothing to count or game.

How many lives does everyone get?

Three. Lose them all and you’re out; play continues until one player is left.

Do I need Plus?

No. Bomb plays with the four free packs. Plus only adds more categories.
