How to play

  1. A scale between two poles

The screen shows a pair of opposites, for example underrated and overrated.

  2. Only one player sees the mark

The player in turn sees the hidden point on the scale. No showing it, no pointing at it.

  3. One clue

They name one thing that in their head sits exactly on that point. Nothing more, no explaining.

  4. The group turns the dial

Everyone else agrees and sets the dial where they think the mark is. A slider does the same job, so VoiceOver users can play too.

  5. Points by distance

Dead centre is four points, the bands next to it three and two, outside nothing. Then the turn passes on.

Who it suits

  • For a group that likes arguing about opinions rather than facts.
  • When you want a game where people team up instead of only competing.
  • For a calmer evening with room for a discussion.

Questions people ask

Is this game in Plus?

Yes, Same Wave is part of the Plus subscription. You always see the price per period up front.

Can I play without a precise gesture?

Yes. The dial is also a slider with a readable value, so it works one-handed and with VoiceOver.

Where do the pairs come from?

We write them from scratch for each language and take them from nowhere else.

How long does it take?

Three to five minutes a round, depending on how long the group argues.
